The Walkmen add UK shows to 2023 ‘Revenge’ tour

here.In January, they announced their return to the UK with some new London shows. The band, who surprised fans late last year with news that they would be reuniting for the first time in decade, will play two headline shows at London’s KOKO this August.Now, The Walkmen have added further dates, including shows in Glasgow, Manchester and Dublin, with an additional London date. Tickets for the new dates go on sale this Friday, March 31 and can be found here.In addition to the UK dates, the band are due to play a number of shows at New York’s Webster Hall in April.

The Walkmen made good on their promise last night (October 17) when they washed fans’ cars before their final show in Brooklyn.The American indie veterans first teased fans with the prospect earlier this year, when they announced the final show of their reunion tour back in July, and told fans that the first 500 to buy tickets would be entered into a draw to have their car washed by the band.“We are not sure on all the details yet, but there is no way this isn’t a great idea,” they wrote at the time.Originally the carwash was scheduled to take place last Friday (October 13), however, this was soon shifted to the morning of the Brooklyn gig, just hours before the members took to the stage at Kings Theater.Kicking off at 10am, Hamilton Leithauser, Walter Martin, Peter Bauer, and Paul Maroon were all present with their buckets, sponges and even matching jumpsuits.

The Walkmen have announced that they will be celebrating the end of their tour by washing cars outside the venue of their final tour date.The NYC indie heroes have added a handful of new tour dates with their final show taking place in Brooklyn, New York at Kings Theatre on October 17. Taking to their official Twitter page, the band shared that they will be washing 100 cars outside of the venue.According to a video posted to their Twitter account, the first 500 ticket buyers will be placed in a raffle and 100 winners will have their cars washed by all five members of The Walkmen.but there is no way this isn’t a great idea.

The Walkmen frontman Hamilton Leithauser has spoken to NME about his soon-to-be-released fifth solo album, the band’s heyday as portrayed in oral history Meet Me In The Bathroom, and what lead to the band reuniting.Before taking the stage for his residency at Manhattan’s Café Carlyle last month, Leithauser told us about the year ahead.Last November, The Walkmen announced they would perform for the first time in nearly a decade with a string of shows at New York City’s Webster Hall, set to run later this month from April 24-28. The shows mark a reunion for the band, who just a year after their last album release, 2012’s ‘Heaven’, went on an “extreme hiatus” according to what bassist Peter Bauer told the Washington Post at the time.
