A same-sex married couple have filed a class action plea against the City of New York, alleging that its insurance plan for employees was discriminatory as it did not extend IVF or in vitro fertilisation coverage to gay male couples. Corey Briskin (33) and Nicholas Maggipinto (36) claim that the city’s policy covers lesbian and heterosexual couples who are trying to have a child, but not gay male couples, reported The New York Times.Corey Briskin (front) and Nicholas Maggipinto are suing the City of New York over its policy denying IVF coverage to gay couples.The couple said their plans to have children via surrogacy were stopped in the tracks when they found out that they could not avail of City of New York’s insurance coverage. Queer As Folk, the latest reboot of the LGBTQ fan favourite has a premiere date set for Australian audiences. Adult film star Steven Miles, AKA Sergeant Miles, was arrested Tuesday for taking part in the January 6 Insurrection at the US Capitol Building. Court documents state that on January 6, Miles, 39, trespassed on Capitol Building grounds, assaulted police officers, smashed windows of the building, and then entered the building briefly. Miles can be seen posing in photographs as well as in CCTV images, wearing a MAGA hat and wearing a desert camo jacket and breaking into the Capitol Building.Nearly 800 people have been arrested in the aftermath of the January 6 Insurrection at the US Capitol, according to the US Department of Justice.

The murders of two gay men in separate incidents in a town in Ireland, have left the LGBTQI community “reeling”. Gardaí – the national police service in Ireland – said they were investigating the two incidents as possible hate crimes. Aidan Moffit (42) and Michael Snee (58) were found dead at their respective residences earlier this week in Sligo town in Ireland.

Hungary’s right-wing and homophobic Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was re-elected on Sunday, winning a fifth term in office, but failed to win enough votes for his anti-LGBTQI referendum.As per Hungarian law, around half of the eight million registered voters needed to vote in the referendum for it to be binding. Australia is set to elect a new government in May 2022. A transgender athlete has reportedly lodged an application to play in the women’s National Rugby League in Australia.The Daily Mail reported that the application is being considered by the NRL.
