Caroline Framke Chief TV Critic As every network jockeys to own the shiniest piece of IP possible to attract distracted viewers, the best thing to say about any adaptation is that it honors the source material while also evolving it, believably and purposefully, to fit a new medium. AMC aims to do exactly that with “Interview With the Vampire,” the first installment of what it’s calling “The Immortal Universe,” having bought the rights to many of Anne Rice’s most iconic works. With both the books and evocative 1994 film to contend with, creator Rolin Jones (“Perry Mason”) took on an admittedly enormous challenge. How do you stay faithful to what makes Rice’s novels so popular while bringing something to the screen that the likes of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and a tiny Kirsten Dunst didn’t?

In the murky realms of Grant Singer’s Reptile, audiences delve into a tale woven with intrigue, and mystery. Penned by Singer, Benjamin Brewer, and Benicio Del Toro, the film attempts to entangle the  viewer in a web of murder and corruption, manifesting through the gritty lens of a small-town investigation. Del Toro is flanked by supporting actors including Alicia Silverstone, Michael Pitt, Ato Essandoh, Justin Timberlake, Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, Eric Bogosian, and Domenick Lombardozzi,. However, the atmospheric tension conjured by the film echoes of potential left unexplored, marking it as a journey through familiar terrains desperately grasping for an identity of its own.

The BBC is bringing AMC Networks’ Interview with the Vampire TV series to the UK.

Netflix‘s crime thriller Reptile has landed, and features Sky Ferreira – check it out below.The film is Grant Singer’s debut feature, and also features the likes of Justin Timberlake, Benicio Del Toro (who also co-writes), Alicia Silverstone, Michael Pitt and Eric Bogosian.A synopsis for the film reads: “A hardened small-town detective uncovers a complex web of deception as he digs for the truth behind the brutal murder of a young real estate agent.”It will land on Netflix on October 6 after premiering at next month’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).Check out the trailer below.Discussing the film, Singer said: “I think the movie will be exciting to people who like to watch something where you don’t know where it’s leading you, where a film is going to have twists and turns and deceive you.“People who like things that are intense and visceral and suspenseful, I think they’ll find something exciting in this. I didn’t want to make something that felt cold and clinical and sterile.

Justin Timberlake is taking on his latest dramatic role in, an upcoming crime thriller from writer-director Grant Singer.In the film, a young New England real estate agent is found dead in a grizzly crime scene, leading local law enforcement, led by Benicio Del Toro's Detective Nichols, to speculate on who in her life may have committed the brutal murder — and unravel some secrets in his own life along the way.Nichols is aided in the case by his wife, Judy, played by Alicia Silverstone, on whom the detective tests out his theories on the case — as well as bite mark patterns.«I'll go with the boyfriend,» Nichols says in the trailer, focusing on Timberlake's character as he and his fellow investigators place wagers on who they think committed the murder.«I've got the friend,» Detective Dan Cleary (Ato Essandoh) speculates, referencing a shady-looking pal of the victim, played by Sky Ferreira.«I'll take the weirdo,» says another detective, played by Michael Beasley. Netflix is giving fans a first look at the new thriller Reptile.

AMC Networks dropped a teaser for season 2 of Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire featuring Delainey Hayles as the new teenage vampire Claudia.

It’s hard to argue that the late author Anne Rice has had a large impact on the modern image of vampires; instead of dark and creepy castle-dwelling old men, the writer instead helped give popular culture the young sexy vampire with her Lestat de Lioncourt novels for better or worse. A character was played by Tom Cruise in the 1994 feature film “An Interview With The Vampire,” which also featured actors such as Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, Antonio Banderas, and a young Kirsten Dunst.

AMC made a deal to secure the rights to 18 of the Anne Rice novels in “The Vampire Chronicles” and “Lives of Mayfair Witches” series. This means there is plenty of source material for multiple horror shows if the network wants to keep them going for years to come.

Somebody get Eric Bogosian a fedora: The Talk Radio alum has been cast in the upcoming series Anne Rice’s Interview with the Vampire as an investigative journalist.

Bogosian joins previously announced cast members such as Sam Reid as Lestat, Jacob Anderson as Louis, and Bailey Bass as Claudia.Molloy is described as an investigative journalist nearing the end of his career who’s given a second chance at the interview of a lifetime.
