“Heart of Stone” got its first sneak peek as part of Netflix’s Tudum event, with Gadot hyping the “extremely epic” film alongside co-stars Jamie Dornan and Alia Bhatt. Action thrillers have been a big part of Tudum, which showcases the streamer’s upcoming original series and films.

Skydance will no longer move forward with a film called “Dallas Sting” meant to star Matthew McConaughey after an investigation into the film’s true story uncovered disturbing allegations, an individual with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.The film from director Kari Skogland (Marvel’s “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”) was meant to kick off production in six weeks and had nearly completed casting. “Dallas Sting” is the true story of a high school girls soccer team that in 1984 went to China and managed to beat some of the best women’s teams in the world from China, Australia, Japan and finally Italy in a championship game.

Carson Burton Zac Efron is heading to Vietnam in the first trailer for “The Greatest Beer Run Ever.”Apple TV+ dropped the trailer for its upcoming true-life war comedy starring Efron, Russell Crowe and Bill Murray. The film, which is based on a true story, follows Efron as John “Chickie” Donohue. Set in 1967, Donohue leaves New York to track down his army friends in Vietnam and share a few beers with them to show that they have support from the American people.

Toronto in the hopes that this true story can inspire audiences the way Farrelly’s last film did. Farrelly co-wrote the script with Brian Currie and Pete Jones based on the book “The Greatest Beer Run Ever: A Memoir of Friendship, Loyalty and War” by Joanna Molloy and the real John “Chickie” Donohue, whose book was a New York Times best seller in 2020.

Sources tell Deadline, Apple has landed The Family Plan, a new action-comedy feature from Skydance Media, starring Academy Award-nominee Mark Wahlberg with Simon Cellan Jones directing. Netflix has closed a deal with Skydance to produce a reimagining of the successful 2001 “Spy Kids” franchise alongside Spyglass Media and creator and director Robert Rodriguez, the companies announced on Wednesday.Rodriguez will write and direct the new film, and like the original series, the new “Spy Kids” movie will focus on a multicultural family of international spies.The film will mark Rodriguez’s second family film with Netflix, following the 2020 family action film “We Can Be Heroes.” The original “Spy Kids” was released 21 years ago Wednesday, to the day.Spyglass owns the “Spy Kids” franchise. Skydance will serve as the lead studio and oversee development and production.

Scott Derrickson, the director of “Doctor Strange” and the upcoming “The Black Phone,” has found his next project, an action and love story called “The Gorge” for Skydance.Derrickson will come on board to direct “The Gorge” after Skydance originally picked up a spec script by Zach Dean — who also wrote Skydance’s “The Tomorrow War” — back in 2020 and developed it internally. “The Gorge” also previously landed on the 2020 Black List.

Scott Derrickson is set to direct Skydance’s The Gorge.  Skydance acquired Zack Dean’s spec script last fall in a highly competitive bidding war and have been developing internally.

After an accident sends him traveling through time, he winds up in the year 2022, when he was a 12-year old boy (played by Walker Scobell) struggling in school after the apparent disappearance of his father (played by Mark Ruffalo).
