‘Fallout: London’ to include music inspired by The Beatles and David Bowie

Fallout 4 mod Fallout: London will include a number of original music tracks inspired by the works of British artists like The Beatles and David Bowie. That’s according to Fallout: London’s project lead Dean Carter, who told NME in a recent interview that the mod’s development team has created around 45 original songs that either take inspiration from ‘50s and ‘60s British music, or reflect a specific part of the mod itself.“Anything that has been sort of, like covered, it’s either in the public domain, or we’ve got permission to use them,” explained Carter. “The one that like skirts the line the most is ‘Nuclear Submarine’, rather than obviously ‘Yellow Submarine’”.The ‘Nuclear Submarine’ track – along with a David Bowie-inspired song – is completely original, but aims to evoke the musical style it’s emulating whilst putting a Fallout spin on it.“One of the songs is singing about the different tube stations,” Carter adds.

Owen Gleiberman Chief Film CriticJust before the Cannes Film Festival midnight-show premiere of the David Bowie documentary “Moonage Daydream,” the film’s writer, director, and editor, Brett Morgen, didn’t simply stroll down the red carpet. As Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” blared from the promenade speakers, Morgen danced — and pranced and pogo-ed, and flashed a cheeky madman grin, and by the time he entered the theater, the crowd, taking all this in on a giant video screen, gave him an even more rapturous than usual Cannes ovation. Morgen had the right look for these antics.

The great majority of us could only aspire, before “Moonage Daydream,” to step into the mind of David Bowie — the persona, the artist, the entity not yet proven terrestrial. Eclectic, unashamedly maximalist, and variously philosophical: all true of both the man himself and Brett Morgen’s feature-length docu-odyssey, which borrows its title from the 1976 hit, and just debuted as part of Cannes’ Midnight slate.

Record Store Day… or National Bill Evans Day? Resonance Releases Five RSD Jazz Vinyl Exclusives, Including Two Evans Rarities

Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Criticare a few artists who’ve been flagship artists for Record Store Day in its 15 years of existence — among them, the Grateful Dead, Dave Matthews Band and David Bowie, all of whom have had multiple exclusive LP releases for RSD — but maybe none have seemed quite so synonymous with the day as jazz piano great Bill Evans. And Resonance Records, the archival label that has been behind the wave of live Evans releases, is doubling down on the legend this weekend with twin titles, “Morning Glory” and “Inner Spirit,” both recorded in Buenos Aires in the 1970s but never officially released until now.As with all the previous Resonance Evans titles before them, this pair of double-LPs is not likely to last a full day in stock at most of the indie music shops that have ordered it.
