Sony’s latest Bad Boys sequel had a theatrical release date of June 14, 2024. But the studio really wants June 7, and that’s where it’s now dating the Will Smith-Martin Lawrence reteam.

Zack Sharf Digital News Director Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom is crashing the summer movie season for the first time as Sony Pictures has set a July 12, 2024, release date for its third “Venom” movie. The film is untitled at this time. Hardy’s previous two comic book tentpoles, 2018’s “Venom” and 2021’s “Venom: Let There Be Carnage,” both opened at the start of October.

Eddie Murphy is in talks to be the main character in a new Pink Panther remake, but not not everyone is looking forward to the new film.The Beverly Hills Cop star is set to take on the lead role of Inspector Clouseau in a new remake of the Pink Panther movies. Developed by MGM, the comedy will be based on the classic property, and follow the adventures of the bumbling inspector who investigates a case surrounding the ‘Pink Panther’ jewel.The project is set to be directed by filmmaker Jeff Fowler, who recently took on the role for the Sonic The Hedgehog film starring Jim Carey, Idris Elba and James Marsden.

As Netflix readies “Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley” for its premiere on the streamer, another Eddie Murphy vehicle emerges. And this one doesn’t see Murphy reprise an old favorite role of his, like “Axel Foley” or “Coming 2 America.” Instead, Variety reports that the actor-comedian will take over a role previously played by comedy legends like Peter Sellers and Steve Martin.

The reboot of the classic property will be directed by “Sonic the Hedgehog” filmmaker Jeff Fowler. Chris Bremner (“Bad Boys for Life,” “The Man From Toronto”) is writing the script, while Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will produce via their Rideback banner. “The Pink Panther” franchise began with the 1963 comedy film starring Peter Sellers as Inspector Jacques Clouseau. Sellers would go on to reprise the role in 1964’s “A Shot in the Dark,” 1975’s “The Return of the Pink Panther,” 1976’s “The Pink Panther Strikes Again” and 1978’s “Revenge of the Pink Panther.” The role has also been inhabited by Alan Arkin, Roger Moore and Steve Martin.

McKinley Franklin editor Tasha Smith will join Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in the latest installment of Sony Pictures’ “Bad Boys” franchise.  In “Bad Boys 4,” Smith will play Theresa, Marcus Burnett’s (Lawrence) loving and devoted wife, a role previously inhabited by Theresa Randle in the first three “Bad Boys” films. Plot details for “Bad Boys 4” have been kept under wraps. Smith is best known for her roles as Carol in the drama series “Empire,” Ronnie Boyce in HBO’s Emmy-winning series “The Corner” and Angela in Tyler Perry’s “Why Did I Get Married?” She has also directed episodes of “Our Kind of People,” “Mayor of Kingstown” and “Bel-Air.”

Brent Lang Executive Editor Will Smith and Martin Lawrence kicked off CinemaCon by talking up their return to “Bad Boys” business. “We’re hype, we’re excited,” Smith told the crowd of movie theater owners. He apologized for not being able to be in Las Vegas for the annual convention of the exhibition industry…well, kinda. “We’re not sorry we couldn’t be there,” Lawrence admonished him, noting they were four weeks into film the fourth film in the franchise. “We glad we not there because we here and they’re paying us to be here,” Smith said.

Today on social media, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence announced that they’re definitely reteaming for a fourth Bad Boys movie which is in early pre-production at the studio with Bad Boys for Life Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah returning to direct from a script by Chris Bremner.

The film stars Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson in a mix-up comedy in which a New York City screw-up is mistaken for the world’s deadliest assassin at an Airbnb rental apartment. It had previously been scheduled for theatrical release on August 12.

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to Sony Pictures’ action-comedy The Man from Toronto, starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, Deadline can confirm. The film previously scheduled for release in theaters on August 12 will now bow on the streamer in all territories apart from China later this year.

Chaos soon follows as the assassin’s world comes crashing down on Hart.

While 2020 has been a shitshow for most of the film industry thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been two surprise success stories— “Bad Boys for Life” and “Sonic the Hedgehog.” One of those films is a sequel two decades in the making that was far from a guaranteed hit and is still the #1 movie of the year. The other is a video game adaptation that had the worst marketing campaign of 2019 and somehow became a hit with fans and critics alike.

We reported late on Friday that a ‘Bad Boys 4’ is in the planning stages over at Sony Pictures, new that hit the web over at The Hollywood Reporter, but here’s something we missed in the same article – the fact that Chris Bremner, who is penning BB4 and worked on the just-released Bad Boys For Life, is currently writing the third movie in the National Treasure series.

Disney is reportedly working on a third film in Nicolas Cage’s popular National Treasure franchise.

Bad Boys 4 Life?

The third part of the franchise "Bad Boys for Life" will release in India on January 31. The buddy cop movie series began in 1995.

Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer are moving ahead with a third “National Treasure” movie with “Bad Boys for Life” screenwriter Chris Bremner tapped to write the script.

I’ve just literally got out of Bad Boys For Life to the news that a fourth movie in the hit buddy cop movie series is in the works over at Sony. The news is that the studio wants to expand on the trilogy with at least one more movie with Chris Bremner, who co-wrote the screenplay Bad Boys For Life returning to script the fourth installment.
