Angelique Jackson Tracee Ellis Ross is packing her bags and inviting audiences to join her solo travel adventures with the new Roku Original series “Tracee Travels.” The series will chronicle the award-winning actor (“Girlfriends,” “Black-ish,” and most recently the Oscar-winning film “American Fiction”) and Pattern CEO and founder as she “meticulously, laboriously, and sometimes ridiculously prepares for and travels solo to spectacular locations.” The series will shoot later this year, following Ross as she “charts her own path, exploring the intersection of beauty, fashion, design, food and culture at each stop.” “I took my first solo trip when I was 22 years old. I decided way back then that I wouldn’t wait to do the things I wanted to do or for my life to come to me,” says Ross.

The doc, which has not yet been titled or given a release date, covers the league’s teams as they decide who they will select in the 2023 NFL draft, which took place last month in Kansas City. “Viewers will get an exclusive, all-access look into the high-stakes operations of four NFL teams and the League’s 2023 draft headquarters in Kansas City during one of the most significant professional sports moments of the year,” Roku said in a release announcing the documentary.The four teams set to be featured are the Carolina Panthers, who selected Bryce Young with the first pick of the draft; the Indianapolis Colts, who chose quarterback Anthony Richardson with the fourth pick of the first round; the Dallas Cowboys, who selected running back Deuce Vaughn in the 6th round, and the Jacksonville Jaguars, who made several trades during the weekend. Roku Originals partnered with Skydance Sports and NFL Sports to produce the doc, which will air sometime before the the start of the 2023 NFL season.

The unscripted series first debuted in 2021 on MotorTrend+ and MotorTrend TV. “Kevin Hart’s Muscle Car Crew” follows Hart and his friends, the “Plastic Cup Boyz,” as they dive into America’s evolving car culture. Throughout the first season, the group of friends began as just mere car enthusiasts and slowly turned into a legitimate car club. In Season 2, Hart and his crew open their own car restoration garage in Atlanta. The new car aficionados begin to learn even more about car culture as they work together to open and operate their own brick and mortar location.

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large Roku Channel scripted series head Colin Davis has jumped to Sony Pictures Television Studios as the studio’s new exec VP of comedy development, Variety has confirmed. As part of the exec shuffle, back at Roku, Brian Tannenbaum has replaced Davis as head of scripted on an interim level. Davis will report to Sony Pictures TV Studios co-president Jason Clodfelter and oversee comedy development for all platforms. Davis’ team will include comedy development senior VP, animation VP Frank Ochoa and comedy development manager Jackie Wertheimer. He starts on May 1. At Roku, Davis oversaw the launch of series including the “Reno 911” reboot and Kevin Hart’s “Die Harter,” as well as the greenlight and release of the feature “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.” Davis joined Roku as part of its acquisition of Quibi content; he had previously led scripted at that very brief short-form subscription service. Before Quibi, he handled comedy development at Turner, working on shows such as “Search Party.” His interim replacement, Tannenbaum, also joined Roku from Quibi..
