And in the case of Thandie Newton, a Golden Globe-nominated actress, she’s apparently had to face issues due to both her ethnicity and her gender, as she revealed in a new, incredible interview over at Vulture.

Thandie Newton didn’t end up doing 2000′s Charlie’s Angels movie and is describing the interactions she had leading up to filming that caused her to turn it down.

The reboot of 1935 iconic film Bride of Frankenstein has been in the pipeline at Universal studios for years and the project hasn’t seen any significant development yet. While the film hasn’t moved forward, the latest report by Variety suggests that actor John Krasinski and Oscar-nominated producer Amy Pascal have been secretly working on reimagining the film to finally kick start a reboot.

With “Little Women,” producer Amy Pascal has scored her second Oscar nomination (after “The Post”). Writer-director Greta Gerwig’s adaptation of Louisa May Alcott is only the third best picture nominee ever to be produced, written and directed solely by women, following “The Piano” and “Winter’s Bone.” Pascal has another distinction: Of the nine nominated films of 2019, she is the only solo producer.

In the early 1990s, Amy Pascal was the Sony production executive in charge of developing the latest big-screen adaptation of Little Women.

On Tuesday, veteran Hollywood producer Amy Pascal became only the fifth woman in the history of the Producers Guild Awards to earn a solo nomination for the guild’s top prize — the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.
