There’s a new toon musical coming to town. Disney revealed Wish, about how the iconic Wishing Star came to be, at D23 today.

As part of the D23 Expo, Walt Disney Animation Studios announced their 2023 feature, one that is meant to draw from the rich history of the studio’s 100 years – “Wish.” Directed by “Frozen” filmmaker Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, the musical is set in a mythical fairy tale kingdom called Rosas, where a young woman named Asha (voiced by recent Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose) makes a wish to save her land from an unspeakable evil. The story is inspired by the iconic wishing star from the Disney logo.Buck and Veerasunthorn were on hand at D23 on Friday to explain the basic premise of “Wish,” which has all the hallmarks of a Disney fairytale – a selfless hero, a terrifying villain and a talking goat (voiced by Disney good luck charm Alan Tudyk).

Joe Otterson TV ReporterAdria Arjona has been cast in the upcoming Cassian Andor series at Disney Plus, Variety has confirmed.Arjona joins previously announced series lead Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk, both of whom will reprise their roles from the “Star Wars” film “Rogue One.” Genevieve O’Reilly and Denise Gough are also set to appear in the show, as will Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller.

Yesterday, “Justice League” actor Ray Fisher continued to show his displeasure with Joss Whedon and how the filmmaker changed the superhero team-up film. However, instead of cryptically commenting (as he did previously), the actor went on to accuse Whedon of “gross, abusive, unprofessional” behavior on set.
