Moayed is a breakout star of the HBO juggernaut “Succession,” in which he stars as private equity investor Stewy Hosseini — best frenemy and casual abuser to Jeremy Strong’s Kendall Roy. The part earned Moayed an Emmy nomination this year for outstanding guest actor in a drama series. He also drew acclaim as the weary lawyer of Anna Delvey in the Netflix original “Inventing Anna.” From Blumhouse and Amazon Studios, “House of Spoils” is directed by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy from their own script, based on an original idea. DeBose plays an ambitious chef who opens her first restaurant — a farm-to-table affair on a remote estate — where she battles kitchen chaos, a dubious investor and crushing self doubt. The powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner, however, threatens to sabotage her at every turn.

Television Academy’s Emmys are meaningless, a new poll revealed.The survey of 1,000 people, which was conducted by OnePoll, unveiled that only 34% of respondents actually plan on watching this year’s 74th Primetime Emmy Awards, which air on Sept. 12 on NBC.The poll is a stark contrast from the 61% of people who said they watched the awards show at least “sometimes” in past years.It’s also a shock since 53% of those surveyed said they watch the most TV — at 15 hours or more weekly.Obviously, those who never really watch TV said they have no interest in watching the Emmys, with 93% of the anti-TV group expressing the sentiment.Last year, CBS scored a larger audience for the 2021 Emmy Awards, with the show increasing eyeballs by 16% — earning 7.4 million viewers.

The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards are set to kick off Monday beginning at 5 p.m. PT/8 p.m. ET live on NBC and on the Peacock streaming service for the first time. As part of the D23 Expo, Walt Disney Animation Studios announced their 2023 feature, one that is meant to draw from the rich history of the studio’s 100 years – “Wish.” Directed by “Frozen” filmmaker Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, the musical is set in a mythical fairy tale kingdom called Rosas, where a young woman named Asha (voiced by recent Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose) makes a wish to save her land from an unspeakable evil. The story is inspired by the iconic wishing star from the Disney logo.Buck and Veerasunthorn were on hand at D23 on Friday to explain the basic premise of “Wish,” which has all the hallmarks of a Disney fairytale – a selfless hero, a terrifying villain and a talking goat (voiced by Disney good luck charm Alan Tudyk).
