being called to three incidents on New Year's Day. One of the most serious incidents was at Rivington Pike, where a walker suffered an upper arm injury after slipping on ice.An 83-year-old man also cut his head while walking along a brook close to the BMRT base off Chorley New Road.
The third incident involved a sledger injuring their back, just over the border from Bolton in Lower Darwen. Following the incidents, Chorley Police warned people to stay away from Rivington.
