A pensioner is in a critical condition in hospital after fire broke out at a south Manchester home.
Firefighters rushed to Broom Lane, in Levenshulme, when a blaze broke out in a ground floor flat just after 3pm on Monday afternoon (March 21).
A woman in her seventies was later taken to hospital in a critical condition, police said.
An air ambulance was seen leaving the area at around 4.30pm.
