Pence in Georgia vows he and Trump will 'keep fighting'

Former Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones announced Wednesday that he will be joining the Republican Party.  Jones, a former Democrat representing the 91st District in Lithonia, Ga., said in a post on Twitter: "Now more than ever, the Republican Party is in desperate need of leaders that know how to fight.

President Donald Trump again insisted , speaking to very large crowds of supporters just outside the White House, again pressured Vice President Mike Pence to move to overturn the results of the presidential election during a joint session of Congress on Wednesday.

A man in Georgia was taken into custody after he dragged a deputy "approximately 30 feet" while fleeing a traffic stop, police say.  Elmer Pence, a 43-year-old from Acworth, is now facing charges including aggravated assault on a police officer and reckless driving, according to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.  The sheriff’s office said in a statement that Pence was pulled over Saturday afternoon in Canton and "at some point during the traffic stop the deputy requested the driver exit the vehicle
