Participant, which is known for bolstering positive social change, has partnered with Neon for the North American distribution of Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s animated documentary Flee. The film recently made its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. Neon acquired the film after its debut. 30WEST and Cinephil brokered the acquisition deal on behalf of the filmmakers.
This marks a reunion between Participant and Neon. The two companies previously partnered on the narrative feature Monos as well

Neon has picked up Jamila Wignot’s documentary Ailey, about dance and choreography legend Alvin Ailey, after its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. The deal is Neon's second at Sundance after it nabbed the North American rights to Flee, an animated doc from Jonas Poher Rasmussen that counts Riz Ahmed and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as executive producers.

Jonas is currently basking with success after the release of The White Tiger. The American drama co-starring Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav has been winning accolades all over the world.
Neon has made the first acquisition out of this year’s Sundance, with North American rights to Jonas Poher Rasmussen’s Flee in what is an undisclosed seven-figure sum after an overnight bidding war.
