The Parks and Recreation special topped Thursday in primetime with a 1.4 rating and 3.7 million viewers, with NBC saying today the telecast collected donations so far totaling $2.8 million.
The zinger-filled special, the first appearance for the Emmy-winning comedy since its seven-season run ended in 2015, featured all the main characters over Zoom. It was constructed over a three-week period from idea to post production, co-creator Mike Schur said,

Amy Poehler and the cast of her old series, “Parks and Recreation,” did more than give fans a thrill with their video chat reunion episode Thursday. They also raised $3.5 million for the food bank charity Feeding America where fans can continue to contribute themselves through May 21.
Amy Poehler and Chris Pratt’s virtual Parks and Recreation special has already raised more than $3 million (£2.4 million) to help non-profit Feeding America amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The cast of popular comedy Parks And Recreation reunited for a one-off special in aid of the coronavirus relief effort.
Not since the death of Lil' Sebastian have we cried so much about Parks and Recreation. A Parks and Recreation Special was not sad by any means, and was in fact a very positive half hour despite being set in these current, anxiety-inducing times. But after we watched Bobby Newport (Paul Rudd) read a message from Leslie Knope and that theme song started, tears were falling.
The citizens of Pawnee, Indiana, are practicing social distancing like the rest of the country, but leave it to Leslie Knope to bring them all together.
