Paris Hilton has called out trolls who have been mocking the size of her baby's head. Cruel comments were made online after she shared a photo of herself with nine-month-old son Phoenix, who was born via a surrogate.
Her own Instagram was targeted and 125,000 comments were left on the Facebook page of a digital creator, who also shared the picture. But the 42-year-old DJ, reality star and heiress quickly responded to the shamers, saying 'targeting my child is unacceptable'.
Sharing a statement on X, formerly Twitter, she said: "Living life in the spotlight, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else's for that matter, is unacceptable.
"This hurts my heart more deeply than words can describe. I've worked so hard to cultivate an environment that is all about love, respect, and acceptance, and I expect the same in return."
Adding that she's 'dreamt of being a mom' for as long as she can remember, she said she's criticised whether she chooses to share photos of her son or not.
"If I don't post my baby, people assume I'm not a great mother and if I do post him, there are some people who are cruel and hateful."
Thousands of people reacted to the negative comments, hitting out at those who made the nasty remarks. But others said Paris has played a huge part in 'our culture's skewed sense of unattainable physical perfection'.
"It’s obviously wrong to make fun of the physical appearance of a baby," said one. "And yet she is now ironically on the receiving end of the same mindset she has created and profited from."
