Police were alerted to reports of a body found by a man and a woman who had been walking along the River Wyre yesterday (February 19). The body was discovered a mile downstream from where Nicola Bulley vanished in St Michael’s on Wyre on January 27.
Whilst the missing mum-of-two's distraught family await anxiously to hear if the body is Nicola, a witness who saw the discovery has said that a helicopter and drone were deployed to help in the search.
According to the witness, the pale-faced couple who found the body reportedly sat on the wall vaping as officers frantically called for back up, reports The Mirror.

A first officer on the scene was told by the man: “It was a body. It is down there. It was a body of a woman. There is definitely a body down there," recalled the witness.
The witness added: “I noticed a man and a woman and two police officers on the embankment. I heard the man talking to police about something in the undergrowth.
“Police cars were flying down the road with the blues and twos going. A police officer pulled up a few minutes later and got his drone out.
“Five minutes later the helicopter arrived. Officers asked to me get out so I moved 200 yards down the road.
“I could still clearly see the man pointing at the riverbank. Then more police cars raced down with the blues and twos going. They cleared the entire road.”
Senior Investigating Officer Det Supt Rebecca Smith arrived at the area to oversee recovery of the body. A white forensic tent was also erected at the scene.

Jon Burlingame editor In what may be the most difficult-to-predict score competition in years, the original-music Oscar could go to a sentimental favorite, a past nominee or the newcomer to the race. Academy members begin voting today. Legendary composer John Williams broke records again by becoming the most nominated living person (53 nominations, winning five), earning the highest number of nominations ever in the music categories, and (it is believed, per the Academy) becoming the oldest nominee ever for a competitive award. He is 91. His nomination for “The Fabelmans” surprised some outsiders, as his fairly spare score is often overshadowed by the several classical pieces performed by Mitzi (Michelle Williams), the character based on director Steven Spielberg’s piano-playing mom. But it passed the 35% rule — that is, more than a third of the total musical content must be original dramatic score — or it would have been disqualified by the Academy’s strict music-branch executive committee.
