Sylvain Sylvain, songwriter and founding guitarist with punk icons the New York Dolls, died Wednesday following a battle with cancer. He was 69.

New York Dolls guitarist Sylvain Sylvain has died, aged 69. He was receiving treatment for cancer.“As most of you know, Sylvain battled cancer for the past two and a half years”, reads a statement on his Facebook page this morning.

He was 69 years old.The news was confirmed on January 15 (Friday) via a statement on Sylvain’s official Facebook page, where it was revealed that he had passed from the cancer he’d been living with for over two years.“Though he fought it valiantly, yesterday he passed away from this disease,” the statement reads.

Last summer, NY cast member Ramona Singer said she had tested positive. In other spinoffs, positive cases were reported by Shannon Beador and Emily Simpson of the Real Housewives of Orange County, by Kyle RIchards, Kathy Hilton and Dorit Kemsley of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, by Jennifer Aydin of Real Housewives of New Jersey, and by D’Andra Simmons of Real Housewives of Dallas.

These don’t appear to have been difficult arrests for police to make.  Two New York men were taken into custody after they allegedly left drugs in a rental car and returned to pick up their forgotten stash, the Albany County Sheriff’s Office says.  Deputies were first contacted by a rental car company at Albany International Airport on Wednesday.

The New York transportation worker arrested this week, accused of participating in the deadly Capitol riots, was granted bail Wednesday during a federal court hearing.  Magistrate Judge Judith McCarthy granted William Pepe a $10,000 bond, ordered him to wear a GPS monitor and imposed a 10 p.m. curfew during his initial court appearance.
