Outlander: The Blood of My Blood has resumed filming in Glasgow after it was postponed due to Storm Isha at the beginning of January.
The spin-off of the time-travelling drama will follow the story of Jamie and Claire Fraser's parents Ellen MacKenzie, Brian Fraser, Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp after the success of Outlander worldwide.
Starz recently revealed the cast for the prequel - set to air following the long-awaited final season of Outlander - announcing that Harriet Slater will star as Elen, Jamie Roy as Brian, Hermione Corfield as Julia and Jeremy Irvine as Henry.
However, not much else is known about the prequel as of yet other than that Diana Gabaldon will serve as a consulting producer on the show, and is also said to be writing a prequel novel about the Frasers which the series will be based on.
According to the official description of the prequel, “The series will center on these two parallel love stories set in two different time periods, with Jamie’s parents in the early 18th century Scottish Highlands and Claire’s parents in WWI England.”
Now Glasgow City Council has confirmed several roads in the west end of the city and the Scotstoun area will be closed for production.
