‘One World: Together at Home’ Concert Draws 20.7 Million Viewers

Including a 'Viva La Vida' performance with virtual violinists

The May 17 special offers the one performance of "Lover" songs fans are likely to see this year, now that all her tour dates have been pushed to 2021.

LOS ANGELES — Almost 21 million Americans watched the “One World: Together At Home” global special on Saturday in support of frontline workers battling the coronavirus pandemic, according to Nielsen data released on Monday.

An event everyone will remember! On Saturday, Lady Gaga, Global Citizen and the World Health Organization made history with an unforgettable musical event that paid tribute to essential workers risking their lives during the Coronavirus pandemic. More than 70 artists and celebrities joined in on the fun, including Beyoncé, Juanes, Oprah, Taylor Swift, Matthew McConaughey and many others.

Lady Gaga’s One World: Together At Home special raised almost $128 million in the U.S. for the coronavirus relief fund.

The One World: Together At Home livestreamed benefit concert has raised $127 million for coronavirus relief efforts, organisers Global Citizen have announced. 

The World Health organisation, Global Citizens and Lady Gaga organised the One World: Together at Home gig which took place all around the world over the weekend.

Music fans can relive the all-star One World: Together at Home benefit any time now, as the concert has been released as a streaming album.

One World: Together at Home spurred sales gains for the songs performed on the multi-network TV special, according to initial sales reports to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.On Saturday (April 18), the day of the two-hour broadcast, the songs performed on the show sold a little more than 12,000 downloads -- a gain of 735% versus April 17 (a little more than 1,000).Data reflects sales of the original versions of the songs performed on the show (for example, the studio version of Green Day’s “Wake Me Up

Saturday night, dozens of musicians from across the genres joined forces to create an at-home concert spectacular which supported the World Health Organization and honored medical workers and others serving on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic response. One World: Together at Home was hosted by late-night hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Stephen Colbert alongside Lady Gaga and Global Citizen and aired in unison across the major broadcast networks and on streaming devices.

Today, Billie Eilish joined the ranks of Taylor Swift, Paul McCartney, Kacey Musgraves, Stevie Wonder, and numerous other artists who are participating in Global Citizen’s One World: Together at Home broadcast to support frontline workers and the World Health Organization. Alongside her brother FINNEAS, she sang the Bobby Hebb soul classic “Sunny.” Watch it happen below.
