One Of HBO's New Series Might Outspend 'Game of Thrones' Production

EXCLUSIVE: Daniel Augustin (Grey’s Anatomy, David Makes Man), Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut (Cruel Summer), Amandla Jahava (DMZ) and Jaboukie Young-White (The Daily Show, Dating & New York) have been tapped for recurring roles in Rap Sh*t, HBO Max’s half-hour comedy series from Insecure co-creator Rae and her Hoorae Productions.

Joe Otterson TV ReporterThe “Dune” television series prequel at HBO Max has found its new showrunner.Variety has learned exclusively that Diane Ademu-John has boarded “Dune: The Sisterhood” in the role of writer, showrunner, and executive producer. Jon Spaihts had previously been attached to run the series, but he stepped down in November 2019 to focus on writing the script for the second of the “Dune” reboot films.The show was ordered straight-to-series at HBO Max in June 2019.

HBO has paused shooting on its "Game of Thrones" prequel "House of the Dragon" because of a positive COVID-19 case on set, Variety has confirmed. As part of testing implemented for all production employees, a production member on the series tested positive for COVID-19.

Bridgerton series two filming was "halted" this week after a production member tested positive for Covid, with shooting resuming on Friday.
