Tom Daley has admitted open water ‘freaks him out’ after completing a challenge for Comic Relief.The Olympic diver, 27, successfully completed an incredible challenge for Comic Relief where he was seen swimming, running, cycling and rowing across four days and raised over a million pounds in donations for the charity. After laughing, Alesha commented that it was surprising to hear Tom mention in the clip that he struggled being in the open water during the challenge, considering his athletic background. Tom replied: “I mean, I dive into the pool and swim to the side.That’s as much as my swimming gets.
But open water freaks me out. And not knowing what’s underneath me… “Swimming in water, in a normal pool you can look down and see the black lines, you just see darkness beneath you and it was 5.3 degrees I think on that day, which is about two or three degrees colder than what cold water comes out of your tap at.” “And that’s never a good look in speedos!” Paddy
