Carson Burton Season 2 of the cooking competition series “The Great American Recipe” is set to premiere in Summer 2023, PBS announced Monday. The programmer also announced that Silvia Martinez, a home cook from California, won the series’ first season.“The Great American Recipe” celebrates the multiculturalism that makes American food unique and iconic. The second season will once again give home cooks from around the country another opportunity to showcase their beloved signature dishes.

Mercury Prize have been sharing their excitement over being shortlisted for the prestigious award.This morning (July 26), the Mercury Prize – in partnership with mobility app FREE NOW – confirmed that Harry Styles‘ ‘Harry’s House’, Little Simz‘ ‘Sometimes I Might be Introvert’, Sam Fender‘s ‘Seventeen Going Under’, Wet Leg‘s self-titled LP and Yard Act‘s ‘The Overload’ are among the 12 records in the running for the annual Album Of The Year statue.The rest of the list is made up of Self Esteem (‘Prioritise Pleasure’), Joy Crookes (‘Skin’), Kojey Radical (‘Reason To Smile’), Nova Twins (‘Supernova’), Fergus McCreadie (‘Forest Floor’), Gwenno (‘Tresor’) and Jessie Buckley & Bernard Butler (‘For All Our Days That Tear The Heart’).The winner will be announced during an event at London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on September 8.Reacting to the nod on Twitter, Wet Leg – aka Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers – wrote: “We’re so freakin lucky that we got to make the album that we made. The Mercury Prize is set to unveil the 2022 Album Of The Year shortlist this week.According to a press release, the shortlist of 12 will be unveiled tomorrow (July 26) in London at 11am. The list will be announced live by Nemone on BBC Radio 6 Music as part of a Mercury Prize 2022 special, and at a launch event hosted by BBC Music’s Huw Stephens.The awards show for the event will take place on September 8 at London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.

Nova Twins have cancelled their planned appearance at Les Nuits Secrètes tonight (July 22) due to travel issues.The London duo were scheduled to perform on the first evening of the three-day festival, which is taking place in Aulnoye Aymeries, northern France.However, the band took to social media this afternoon to confirm that they’ve now pulled out of the event.“We’re so sorry to say that due to extreme queues leading to the ferry at Dover, we are no longer able to make it to Les Nuits Secrètes in time for our performance later this evening,” Nova Twins wrote in a statement.“We’re so gutted to be missing the festival but have been in standstill traffic at the port since 8am and the situation is completely out of control.”A post shared by Nova Twins (@novatwinsmusic)They added: “We miss our French family and can’t wait to return as soon as possible. À bientôt! [See you soon!].”The group also shared a screenshot of a BBC News article on the current situation in Dover, Kent.
