‘Normal People’ on Hulu: TV Review

Every now and again, a pop-cultural phenomenon takes the world by storm and with it comes a fresh, new beauty obsession. The latest? Marianne’s bangs on the hit Hulu series Normal People. The internet is obsessed —  and so are we. Not to mention, the actress who plays the Irish teen admits the ‘do played a part in her landing the role.

Normal People has been the biggest television hit of 2020. It’s all anyone can talk about.

If you’re late to the party, Normal People, BBC Three’s adaptation of Sally Rooney’s best-selling book, follows the love story of Marianne and Connell as they navigate from school into adulthood. And Paul Mescal, the actor who plays Connell, (and the nation’s newest crush) has been the name on everyone’s lips since the series started.

You’d need the self-control of a Buddha to not binge-watch BBC series Normal People in a couple of sittings. The TV show, based on Sally Rooney’s book of the same name, has shattered records by racking up sixteen million iPlayer requests in its first week alone.

If you’ve been living under a rock you might have just missed the buzz around Normal People, or more specifically, Connell’s chain.
