Actor Peter Bowles, star of To The Manor Born, has died from cancer at the age of 85. Bowles was best known for his role as Richard DeVere in the BBC sitcom which aired from 1979 to 1981, starring as the self-made businessman alongside Dame Penelope Keith, with the pair reprising their roles in a 2007 special.

Soho House owner Nick Jones has admitted that he’s nervous about opening up the Manchester branch of the private members club. The club, which it’s hoped will be open by the end of the year and will bring 150 jobs to the city, is currently under construction in the old Granada TV studios building.

Anna Karen has tragically passed away aged 85 in a house fire. Anna was known for starring in TV shows like EastEnders, where she played Aunt Sal, sister of Peggy Mitchell, and 70s comedy, On The Buses. Her EastEnders character was last seen on the hit BBC soap in 2017.

Procol Harum, has died aged 76.The pianist, composer and lyricist was being treated for cancer. He died peacefully at home over the weekend according to a statement on Procol Harum’s website.The statement described Brooker as “a brightly shining, irreplaceable light in the music industry”, adding that he “exhibited and developed a highly individual talent.“His first single with Procol Harum, 1967’s ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’, is widely regarded as defining the ‘summer of love’, yet it could scarcely have been more different from the characteristic records of that era.“Gary’s voice and piano were the single defining constant of Procol’s 50-year international concert career.
