Searchlight Pictures has pushed back the release date for the Taika Waititi-helmed Next Goal Wins, the soccer comedy starring Michael Fassbender, which the Oscar winner wrote with Iain Morris. The Hawaii-set feature is now set to open on November 17th, having previously been dated for September 22nd.
Competitors for Next Goal Wins in its opening weekend at the box office will include Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, TriStar’s Eli Roth pic Thanksgiving and Uni’s Trolls Band Together. Pic had previously been set to open against Lionsgate’s The Expendables 4 and Sony’s The Book of Clarence.
The film reteaming Waititi with Searchlight on the heels of his Oscar winner Jojo Rabbit tells the story of the American Samoa soccer team, which suffered the worst loss in World Cup history, losing to Australia 31-0 in 2001. With the 2014 World Cup approaching, the team recruits a down on his luck, maverick coach (Fassbender) to help turn their fate around.
Producers on the pic included Garrett Basch of Film Rites, Jonathan Cavendish of Imaginarium Productions, and Mike Brett and Steve Jamison of Archer’s Mark. Elisabeth Moss, Oscar Kightley, David Fane, Beulah Koale, Lehi Falepapalangi, Semu Filipo, Uli Latukefu, Rachel House, Kaimana, Chris Alosio, Rhys Darby and Angus Sampson round out its cast.
Searchlight brought Raine Allen-Miller’s acclaimed romantic dramedy Rye Lane, which world premiered at Sundance 2023, to Hulu in the U.S. and Star internationally on March 31st. FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have confirmed an August release date for their upcoming sci-fi game Armored Core 6: Fires Of Rubicon, with a new gameplay trailer showcasing the game in action.Armored Core 6 will arrive on August 25, 2023 — just over 11 years since the last mainline Armored Core game was released.As for platforms, the upcoming game will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and has been priced at £49.99 on Steam.The first gameplay trailer for Armored Core 6 was shared today (April 27), revealing players piloting a customisable mech and pitting it against a wide variety of rival robots.Check out the trailer below.The trailer confirms that players’ mechs will be highly customisable, with the protagonist using everything from cluster rockets to lasers to take down opponents; while one scene shows the player swapping their mech’s legs for tank tracks.While FromSoftware is yet to touch on the game’s plot, the Steam page for Armored Core 6 says players will “pilot their mech in fast-paced, omni-directional battles, taking advantage of massive stages and their mech’s mobility on land and in the air to ensure victory”.“Customise Armored Core parts to suit a large variety of playstyles,” the page continues.

Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Netflix has set the launch date for Part 3 of “Lupin,” its popular heist series starring Omar Sy, for Oct. 3. Louis Leterrier, who’s just been tapped to helm the next installment in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, is back in the director’s chair for the third part of “Lupin,” which will come more than two years after Part 2. As previously reported, the new season of “Lupin” started filming in the French capital in November 2021, so the launch comes a good deal of time after Part 2 debuted in June 2021. Sy is reprising his role as Assane Diop, a character inspired by the world-famous gentleman thief and master of disguise, Arsène Lupin. The cast will also bring back Ludivine Sagnier and Clotilde Hesme, among others.
