New 'Daredevil' Series in the Works at Disney+

“The unknown stalks, you must escape:” is the tagline from the trailer for the forthcoming Spanish-language miniseries “El Refugio” (“The Shelter”), which portrays one family’s odyssey against a force of nature they aren’t even sure exists. As a vacationing family begins to witness bizarre events on television, such as mass military mobilization, they find that their home in the Mexican countryside is untouched, “nothing seems to be happening.” The family’s locale is calm, offering the various pleasantries a springtime vacation carries.

A Ghostbusters animated series is in development at Netflix, Deadline has confirmed. The project, based on the Ghostbusters IP, hails from Ghostbusters: Afterlife co-writers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan (Ghost Corps) and Sony Pictures Animation.

The show will air in over 95% of the country and will be hosted by Emmy-award winning journalist Elizabeth Vargas (“20/20,” “America’s Most Wanted”).In 30-minute episodes airing Monday through Friday each week, the series will explore crime through the lens of smartphones.

Christian Cooper — the black man and avid bird-watcher at the center of the 2020 “Central Park Karen” fiasco — has scored a TV gig at National Geographic.Cooper, 59, will host a series for the nature channel called “Extraordinary Birder.”The lifelong bird enthusiast will take viewers “into the wild, wonderful and unpredictable world of birds,” according to National Geographic.The channel has yet to announce a release date.“Whether braving stormy seas in Alaska for puffins, trekking into rainforests in Puerto Rico for parrots, or scaling a bridge in Manhattan for a peregrine falcon, he does whatever it takes to learn about these extraordinary feathered creatures and show us the remarkable world in the sky above,” the network said in a statement.
