He’s engaged to Ann Lesley Smith, a 66-year-old San Francisco police chaplain. According to gossip columnist Cindy Adams, who broke the story in the New York Post, Murdoch’s future wife was married to Chester Smith, a country-western singer, as well as a radio and TV executive who died in 2008. Adams reports that the two bonded over their shared knowledge of the media business as well as the fact that she once owned a vineyard and he still does. If they tie the knot, it will be Murdoch’s fifth marriage. Hall, a model and actress, was married to Murdoch for six years. In addition to Hall, Murdoch was previously married to Wendi Deng from 1999 to 2013; Anna Maria Torv from 1967 to 1999; and Patricia Booker, from 1956 to 1967.

New Order have backed the #LetTheMusicMove campaign against proposed changes to US visa rules that would impact touring artists.Last month saw the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announce that it was planning to raise touring visa fees for foreign acts by more than 250 per cent.The DHS said in its proposal that applications for a P visa, which is for acts arriving in the states to perform temporarily, would increase from the current rate of $460 (£375.23) to $1,615 (£1,317). Meanwhile, the longer-term O work visa would jump from $460 (£375.23) to $1,655 (£1,349).Numerous musicians have since spoken out against the plans, saying that it would be “a huge hardship to pay such high visa fees”.

Alex Timbers directed “Baby J,” which features music from David Byrne of Talking Heads. It was filmed in Boston’s Symphony Hall in February 2023.

Elizabeth Merriwether’s sitcom “New Girl” is leaving Netflix after nearly 10 years on the streaming platform for a new home at Hulu and Peacock.The show, starring Zoey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson and Lamorne and Hannah Simone, becomes available to stream at its new joint streaming homes starting April 17. The deal between NBCUniversal and Disney dictates that both streamers will share rights to all seven seasons of the show, 146 total episodes.The comedy show originally aired on Fox from 2011-2018, and it began streaming on Netflix in the summer of 2013 in the U.S. Since hitting streaming it’s only grown in popularity, with clips frequently making the rounds on TikTok.Deschanel plays Jessica Day, a school teacher searching for a new place to live after coming home to find her boyfriend cheating on her.

New Girl is getting a new streaming home. The comedy series will be leaving Netflix and moving to Hulu and Peacock next month as part of a shared agreement between the two streamers.
