Netflix revisits ‘Trials of Gabriel Fernandez’ in docuseries

Following the lead of organizations behind numerous other major upcoming events, Netflix is postponing its inaugural stand-up comedy festival amid the coronavirus public health crisis. Netflix Is a Joke Fest was initially set to run April 27-May 3 in Los Angeles and occupy around 20 venues, including The Laugh Factory, the Hollywood Bowl, the Greek Theatre and Largo.

Netflix is shutting down one of their LA offices after an employee was believed to have contracted coronavirus, Variety has learned from sources. All Los Angeles employees were advised to leave and begin working from home. The building where the potential coronavirus patient worked is undergoing a deep cleaning.

Netflix is about to serve a flood of funny in Los Angeles with its Netflix is a Joke Fest, set for April 27-May 3. For one week, the streaming giant is partnering with Live Nation to bring over 100 live shows and events to various venues in L.A. with recorded shows available on the platform later this year.

Having already signed stand-up talent like Ali Wong, Dave Chappelle and Amy Schumer as one of the largest buyers of comedy specials, the streaming giant now plans to put its comedy performers, and brand, on stage at the weeklong Netflix Is a Joke event in Los Angeles from April 27 to May 3.
