Neil Diamond’s anthem “Sweet Caroline” is a beloved singalong, but it appears that the singer-songwriter realizes that his message of “touching hands” doesn’t quite work in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Today, he shared a video where he encouraged a singalong of the song. When he reached the pre-chorus, he sang some rewritten lyrics: “Hands/Washing hands/Reaching out/Don’t touch me/I won’t touch you.” Watch the video, which includes a very good cameo from his dog, below.
