‘Music’ Trailer: Sia’s Controversial Directorial Debut Is A Colorful, Musical Drama

Australian recording artist Sia has apologized for the depiction of autism in her directorial feature debut, Music, after the movie surprisingly snagged two Golden Globe nominations.

When the Golden Globe nominations were announced on Wednesday morning, there were the usual upsets, snubs and surprises but one film stood out in particular, largely because not many had even heard of it. The feature film Music earned a nod for best picture—musical or comedy, while its star Kate Hudson also picked up a best actress nomination.

In terms of surprises, Sia's yet to be released Music, which has already generated controversy as the musician chose to cast Maddie Ziegler as an autistic girl instead of an actor on the spectrum, snagged an unexpected two nominations for best motion picture, musical or comedy and for actress Kate Hudson.
