A woman carried out a 'vicious' attack against her boyfriend after the pair got into a drunken row over song lyrics.
Maria Jones stabbed her partner of six years in the stomach with a kitchen knife during the incident on February 6.
The 49-year-old then delayed calling paramedics to treat the victim, who was left with 'his intestines protruding through the stab wound'.
He was later rushed to intensive care where he received emergency treatment and ended up spending 20 weeks in hospital, Birmingham Live reports.
Jones, of Moat Road in Oldbury, was sentenced to 28 months in prison for the attack, which left her victim scarred for life.
Rachel Pennington, prosecuting at Wolverhampton Crown Court, said the pair were separated but kept in contact with one another before the assault on February 6 last year.
Her boyfriend travelled to Jones' address that night, after finishing work for the week, with a view of staying for the night.
She said: "They spent the evening listening to music and talking. [The victim] noticed, shortly before 1am, that the atmosphere changed."
One of them went to buy alcohol before they continued listening to music. But there was then a "disagreement about who knew the words" to a song, said Ms Pennington.
ones then went into the kitchen and took a knife from a drawer, which was witnessed by her partner, who shut the door. He then told Jones to 'stop f****** about', the court heard.
But then Jones came in and stabbed him in his stomach, said Ms Pennington. She then delayed in assisting her partner with medical assistance, before calling for an ambulance later that morning.
