Mrs Hinch fans have shared a simple remedy for those looking to get "sparkly" and streak-free windows. With hard water and harsh chemicals, getting a smooth and clear finish can be trickier than it may first seem.
Thankfully, there are Facebook groups which are dedicated to influencer Sophie Hinchcliffe - better known as Mrs Hinch - in which people can share their tips and tricks. A member of one of these Facebook groups was having issues with streaks after cleaning their windows and was looking for a solution.
After asking for help on Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, the poster received a simple remedy and method that can be made and carried out at home.
The frustrated user wrote: "What is the best glass cleaner - fed up of streaks?"
The page, which has more than 620,000 users, was clearly the right place to go as users were quick to share their clever and cost-effective hacks. One of which requires an item that most households will already have in their cupboards.
"Vinegar in a bowl of hot water, use this to clean the window, then wipe dry with kitchen paper," wrote one commenter. The cleaning fan went on to explain that a mixture of half warm water and half white vinegar can leave mirrors "sparkly" and others recommended using it alongside Minky green glass cloths to get that streak-free finish.
There's a good chance that you have white vinegar at home, but if you don't it can be picked up for as little as 29p at Tesco. Meanwhile, Sainsbury's sells Minky M Cloth Glass & Window for £2,75.
This comes after Mrs Hinch fans shared a separate 10p item that can banish 'caked on' oven door stains. According to the Facebook group members a wet dishwasher tablet can help get the door cleaned up.
