'Minions' sequel release delayed

After previously delaying Black Widow because of the coronavirus, Disney revealed a new release schedule for its many planned Marvel films as part of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Friday, and tucked within the calendar announcement was a premiere date for the anticipated Captain Marvel sequel.

Fans have been waiting more than three decades for a sequel to the 1986 blockbuster “Top Gun” — and thanks to COVID-19, they’ll be waiting even longer.

Naughty Dog has once again pushed back the release date for its upcoming action-survival game The Last of Us Part II. Citing "logistic issues," likely a reference to the current coronavirus pandemic and its impact on rollout in various global markets, the studiosaidit was “bummed about this decision but ultimately understood it’s what’s best and fair to our players.

LOS ANGELES -- “Wicked” fans are going to have to wait even longer to see Stephen Daldry's film adaptation of the popular Broadway musical. Universal Pictures on Wednesday announced that another handful of theatrical release dates are shifting due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has bumped “Wicked” off the calendar entirely for the moment.

The Minions sequel Minions: The Rise Of Gru has officially been postponed by Universal. The reason is the impact of the spreading coronavirus which is affecting all of us around the world. The film’s release was set for the summer but the film will be delayed for two reasons – one being that most cinemas in the key territories are currently closed, and that Illumination Entertainment, who are behind the Minions and Despicable Me movies, have had to close their studios in France.

The news can’t come as a big surprise considering most cinemas are closed in both the United States and now the UK.
