The 37-year-old Top Gun: Maverick actor is set to take over for Richard Gere in a modernized update on An Officer and a Gentleman.
Additional details about the fresh take on the 1982 movie have been revealed.

According to reporting by Deadline, the movie will be released via Paramount with Dana Fox refreshing a draft of the script. The script was started by Matt Johnson.
It does not appear that a director has been tapped yet, and a tentative release date has not been announced.
