Aberdeen manager Jim Jim Goodwin says now is the right time for Mikey Devlin and the Dons to part ways as his contract is terminated.
The centre-back has had an awful time with injury recently and has made just one Premiership appearance over the last two seasons.
Devlin has had the full support of Aberdeen through this period but new boss Goodwin has made a tough decision on his future.
It's the third big call on players during the former St Mirren boss' reign so far, having already axed experienced pros Scott Brown and Andy Considine.
A former teammate of his at Hamilton, Goodwin said of Devlin: “I’ve known Mikey a long time, having both been at Hamilton Accies a number of years ago.
"He’s a great lad but has unfortunately had a horrendous time with injuries. The club has been a fantastic support to him through this challenging period.
"With Mikey having taken some time away from Cormack Park to think about his future, it was apparent that the time was right for him to move on from Aberdeen.
“We all wish him the very best in the future.”
Devlin joined Aberdeen from Hamilton in 2018 but has made just 51 appearances in that space of time. He also has three caps for Scotland.
The 28-year-old added: “I’d like to thank the manager, staff, and chairman for the opportunity to play for a club like Aberdeen.
“Despite the challenges I have faced I have loved my time here and am leaving with some brilliant memories.
“I would also like to express my thanks to the fans for their backing and continued support since I joined Aberdeen in 2018, in particular over the last 18 months, which have been a very difficult period for me.
“This is a fantastic club and city, with a wonderful support. I wish everyone associated with Aberdeen every

plans to sell Channel 4 don’t “make any business sense” and undermine the channel’s “tremendous economic and cultural achievement”.The Scottish filmmaker criticised the government’s proposals to privatise the publicly owned channel, which he clarified does not cost the taxpayer any money as Culture Secretary Nadine Dorries wrongfully claimed last year, because it’s paid for by ad revenue.Iannucci, known for TV shows including The Thick Of It and I’m Alan Partridge as well as feature films such as The Death Of Stalin (2017), wrote in a The Guardian op-ed that the move has been ill-thought-out as he questioned why a broadcaster that “puts billions into the economy and promotes British culture and values internationally” should be sold off.“It doesn’t make any business sense, and it’s certainly not patriotic,” he wrote. “I regularly get asked by international broadcasters why the UK government has such a destructive agenda against the country’s main television networks.“Dorries tweeted yesterday that ‘government ownership is holding Channel 4 back’, which perhaps explains part of the problem, that she sees the network as some manifestation of the Big State.

How Cool Are You,” released earlier this year.Featuring the band hamming it up on a skating rink in purposely loud, garish outfits and makeup, it is as punky, queer, and disarmingly fun as the Glasgow sextet themselves. With a stunning EP already under their belts, the band, led by magnetic lead singer James Potter, has now released their impressive first full-length album, Unlearning (★★★★★).Walt Disco comes across as brash and anarchic in both their sound and their ethos, but what becomes quickly apparent to anyone who listens to Walt Disco is that they are not only talented, they have done their homework, too.Proudly copping from glam rock, art pop, new wave and the Scottish post-punk scene, Walt Disco’s sound is loud, charismatic, and wondrously eclectic. Potter’s throaty, dramatic vocals, which land somewhere between Bowie and Bauhaus, are a surprisingly versatile vehicle for lyrics that range in mood from brooding to manic and everything in between.Indebted as they are to a handful of movements that crested in the ’80s, they avoid coming across as a pastiche of them.
