Michelle Obama To Have An Elementary School In Northern California Named After Her

(CNN) — Former first lady Michelle Obama went to her prom in a polka-dotted dress. We know that because she shared the photo Tuesday as part of a challenge to encourage students to vote.

Michelle Obama, 56, proved that she is far braver than the rest of us by sharing a photo from her high school prom on Instagram. It certainly helps that she looks positively gorgeous in the throwback pic from 1982, which features a teenage Michelle rocking a pink satin gown and matching jacket while sitting in a wicker chair.

It's not every day you get to see your favorite celebrities sharing their (slightly awkward) prom photos, but on Tuesday, many of them began sharing pictures from the high school rite of passage, all for a good cause.

Michelle Obama appears to be on the Jennifer Lopez track, because the former first lady seriously hasn't aged a day since her teenage years.

Michelle Obama revealed during an interview with Oprah Winfrey that she chooses not to follow her two daughters, Malia and Sasha Obama, on social media. Both Sasha and Malia are currently in college, with Sasha attending the University of Michigan and Malia enrolled at Harvard University.

Now that Michelle Obama, 56, and Barack Obama, 58, are empty nesters, they are finally “seeing each other again.” That’s what Michelle, former First Lady of the United States, confessed to her friend Oprah Winfrey, 66, as she sat opposite the talk show host at the Brooklyn stop of Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus tour on Feb. 8.
