Michael Mosley shares expert opinion on 'remarkable' weight loss injections

Health guru Michael Mosley has shared his expert thoughts on the current ream of weight loss injections taking the world by storm.
The creator of many weight loss diets, such as the Fast 800 and 5:2 eating plans, Mr Mosley works to help those struggling to shed pounds to to so in a sustainable way.
While he isn't usually one to praise weight loss drugs on the market that he said come with a "long list of quackery" and claims most aren't safe or effective. However, his thoughts differ for treatments based on semaglutide injections, calling them "remarkable".
Semaglutide is a compound that is found in brands including Ozempic, Wegovy and Moujourno and these treatments are prescribed with the single purpose of treating type 2 diabetes complications by regulating blood sugar levels. Mr Mosley, who was diagnosed with the condition, has openly discussed how he turned to intermittent fasting to help reverse it, while also losing 10 stone.
However, semaglutide has also been proven to be effective in causing weight loss quite rapidly. As such, it has soared in popularity among people who use it as a slimming quick fix, even if they are not diabetic - which is not endorsed by any of the aforementioned brand names.
In a new Fast 800 blog, Mosley said what sets semaglutide apart from previous slimming medications is that "they have been shown in randomised controlled trials to be both safe and effective". He highlights that they do come with side effects but that "compared to anything we’ve had before, they really are quite remarkable."
