When it comes to shedding pounds, Mr Mosley's eating plans like the Fast 800 and 5:2 diets promote high protein, low carb eating combined with intermittent fasting. It is commonly believed that cutting down on carbohydrates means ditching bread and while processed loaves can low in nutrients and high in sugar - bread can be healthy if home made with fresh ingredients.
Rather than taking time to mix, knead and prove a full loaf, this keto mug bread recipe can be whipped up in minutes, is low in sugar and comes in at 212 calories per serving.
Adapted from The Fast 800 Treats Recipe Book by Dr Clare Bailey, this bread that's keto friendly is full of nutrient dense seeds, including flaxseed, which Mosley claims can aid with weight loss.
Sharing the recipe on the Fast 800 blog, Michael said: "Flaxseed is a great addition to any diet but particularly a keto diet as they’re a source of protein, fibre and omega-3 fatty acids. They’re one of the world’s oldest cultivated crops and come in brown and golden forms which both have a mild, savoury flavour which lends itself perfectly to bread recipes.
"They provide a whole host of health benefits including supporting heart health, protecting against cancers like breast cancer and blood cancer, and even assisting in weight loss."
