Michael Keaton may return as Batman in ‘The Flash’ film

Variety has learned.The untitled series will be set in the world Reeves is creating for the feature film “The Batman,” with the intent being to launch a new Batman universe across multiple platforms. It is said to build on the film’s examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City.

HBO Max announced on Friday that it is teaming up with The Batman director and co-writer Matt Reeves for a new drama series which will be set in the world of his upcoming Dark Knight film, which will feature Robert Pattinson wearing the cape and cowl.HBO Max describes the series as building upon The Batman's "examination of the anatomy of corruption in Gotham City, ultimately launching a new Batman universe across multiple platforms.

Director Joel Schumacher, who passed away last month at 80, was responsible for such Hollywood hits as Brat Pack classic “St. Elmo’s Fire”, vampire thriller “The Lost Boys” and the dark, violent Michael Douglas drama “Falling Down”.
