During the podcast, Michael revealed that it’s been a struggle for him.
“When I did the spinoff from The Good Wife, which is The Good Fight, I couldn’t remember the lines. I just had this blank, I couldn’t remember the lines,” he said about his memory.
Michael then recalled that as a young actor on Family Ties, which he starred on from 1982 to 1989, his memory was much better.
“I’d go, ‘I’m in. Mallory, get off the phone.’ And I knew it, like in an instant, and it continued to be that way for me,” he said. “I have 70 pages of dialogue on a [Brian] De Palma movie, and knowing that a hugely expensive Steadicam shot depends on me knowing the lines — not a trickle of sweat on my brow.”
However, now, he’s now to just a handful of pages that he can remember.
“I can’t remember five pages of dialogue. I can’t do it,” Michael admitted. “So I go to the beach.”
Michael has been very open up about his struggles with Parkinson’s, and recently revealed that his disease came to light earlier than expected due to bullying.
His life will be the subject of an documentary at Apple.
