Michael Douglas is opening up about why Debra Winger lost her role in Romancing The Stone.
The 77-year-old actor famously starred opposite Kathleen Turner in the 1984 movie, and its 1985 sequel The Jewel of the Nile.

While speaking on Rob Lowe‘s “Literally!” podcast, Michael revealed that Debra lost out on the role after she bit him!
Michael said that after “knocking back tequilas” over friendly conversation, Debra allegedly broke the skin on his arm with her teeth.
“We walk out and, just as you would kind of go ‘Oh you!’ and give someone a little punch in the arm, she goes ‘Oh you!’ and she reaches over and she bites me on my arm,” he shared. “I’m like, ‘Aaargh!’ She bit me.”
He continued, “She’s joking and I’m looking at her and go, ‘I don’t know, I’m thinking this could be rough…’ she’s broken the skin!”
Michael added that her actions prompted him to tell director Robert Zemeckis that he couldn’t work with her.
“I break down in tears, ‘I can’t go into the jungle with her, she bit me, look! She bit me in the arm,’” he said.
In a recent interview, Debra opened up about exiting another movie after she found out about one particular co-star.
