A 25-year-old woman sobbed as she appeared in court accused of killing a couple in a crash.
Laila Wigley, of Thoresby Avenue, Bridlington, has been charged with causing the deaths of Dean Yarrow and Faye Wardle by dangerous driving on the A165 in Yorkshire in May 7, 2021, Hull Live reports. She is also accused of causing serious injury to a child by dangerous driving.
Ms Wigley's Mercedes collided head-on with Mr Yarrow's Peugeot 2008 on the road, the court was told. Mr Yarrow, 33, was driving, while his girlfriend Ms Wardle, 32, was a passenger and a child was in a child seat.

Ms Wigley appeared before Hull magistrates in connection with the accident and the case was sent to Hull Crown Court. She was not asked to enter pleas to the three charges.
Emily Robinson, prosecuting, said that the accident happened at 3.28pm as Ms Wigley drove a black Mercedes Benz car on the A165 at Bridlington, near the junction of Grindale Road crossroads. The child, who cannot be named for legal reasons, suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Mr Yarrow and Miss Wardle died at the scene from their injuries. Ms Wigley was allowed unconditional bail until her first appearance at Hull Crown Court in April.
She sobbed as she confirmed that she understood the next stage of the case. She was represented by barrister Kristina Goodwin for a Leeds law firm.
Three women and two men representing the bereaved families were in the public gallery for the hearing, as well as two police officers. Five supporters of Ms Wigley were also in court.
