Fever 333 have announced that they have formed a new band together.Aric Improta and Stephen “Stevis” Harrison both made their departure away from the group in October 2022 – surprising fans by sharing their own respective statements confirming that they had left the line-up.Now, the two have confirmed that they have got a new band together called House Of Protection, and revealed that they will be releasing the first taster of their sound soon.They shared the news with a joint Instagram post, which blends together a series of pretty intense visuals, along with a voice-over that says “Welcome to the House of Protection”.No music is featured on the video although, based on the clips, it appears that Harrison is taking on the role of frontman, and will be delivering some intense and chaotic vocals not too dissimilar from that of their former group.At the end of the video, it is confirmed that House Of Protection’s music will be arriving via Red Bull Records – the same label which has long been home to Beartooth.A post shared by House of Protection (@house_of_protection)While there is not yet any previews available of what the band will sound like exactly, the two have worked with enough bands in the past to presume that the final result will be pretty intense.As highlighted by Loudwire, aside from their time in Fever 333, Harrison has taken on the role of bassist for metalcore group The Chariot, while Improta is still contributing to the releases by post-hardcore act Night Verses.House Of Protection’s first song is set to arrive next week (April 30).After their departure last October, frontman Jason Aalon Butler was left as the sole remaining member, and Harrison alleged that “things were pretty bad internally” between the

Jem Aswad Executive Editor, Music Childish Gambino — aka multihyphenate Donald Glover — doesn’t do anything by half, and as he promised last month, he has dropped a new version of his surprise release “3.15.20” (which quietly dropped in March 2020), under its original title “Atavista,” dates for “The New World Tour,” a massive trek through North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, launching in August. He also released a video for the album’s song “Little Foot Big Foot,” directed by Hiro Murai, featuring Young Nudy. He will follow with what he says is the last installment of the Gambino project, which will serve as the soundtrack to his film “Bando Storm and the New World.” Willow will support the AEG-produced tour in North America and Amaarae in Europe.
AC/DC have shared a photo of their new line-up ahead of their first tour in eight years.The current incarnation of the legendary Australian rock band features classic members Brian Johnson (vocals) and Angus Young on vocals and lead guitar respectively alongside rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney.Stevie Young is the nephew of Angus and has been playing with the band for several years, initially filling in for Malcolm Young when he was diagnosed with dementia. Hinds have shared their latest track ‘Boom Boom Back’ featuring Beck, and announced their new album ‘VIVA HINDS’.Serving as the album’s lead single, ‘Boom Boom Back’ the breezy track features a crisp guitar riff with the duo – Carlotta Cosials and Ana Perrote – and Beck asks “If you wanna fall in love in a bar tonight / Do you wanna fall in love with a broken heart? / Do you wanna ride? Ride in my Mirage? / Do you wanna be the one that feels the “Boom-Boom” back?”The song was the first track the duo wrote for the album following a creative rut in 2020 after the release of their third album ‘The Prettiest Curse’. They went on to join forces with Beck after the duo met by chance at a film screening on a trip to LA.Directed by Perote and Cosials, the track’s accompanying music video sees the two walking and driving all around Los Angeles in matching black outfits. Blur have announced details of their new feature-length documentary To The End, which will follow their recent comeback and the release of their first album in eight years.The Britpop icons first shared a teaser about the upcoming project back in February, when they announced that a feature-length documentary was on the way, and set to recall the making of their latest album ‘The Ballad Of Darren’.Now, frontman Damon Albarn and co. have shared the title of the film, and confirmed that it will be arriving in cinemas across the country later this summer.Called Blur: To The End, the new documentary will be shown in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from July 19 and, according to a press release, will “follow the unique relationship of four friends – and bandmates of three decades – Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree as they came together in early 2023 to record new songs ahead of their sold-out, first-ever shows at London’s Wembley Stadium in July last summer.”The Wembley shows refer to when the band played two massive back-to-back headline shows at the venue last summer.

TikTok and Universal Music Group (UMG) have announced that they have come to a new licensing agreement.Today (May 2), the social media platform and music label issued a press release announcing the new agreement. It comes after TikTok’s and UMG’s previous agreement expired in late January, with the latter withdrawing its artists’ music from the platform as a result of both parties’ inability to work out a new deal.In late January, UMG claimed that “TikTok proposed paying our artists and songwriters at a rate that is a fraction of the rate that similarly situated major social platforms pay”, which it says accounts for one per cent of its revenue.Now, however, UMG’s new agreement with TikTok will reportedly “deliver improved remuneration for UMG’s songwriters and artists, new promotional and engagement opportunities for their recordings and songs and industry-leading protections with respect to generative AI”, per a press release.Lucian Grainge, Chairman and CEO of UMG, said of their new partnership: “This new chapter in our relationship with TikTok focuses on the value of music, the primacy of human artistry and the welfare of the creative community.

Kaiser Chiefs drummer and songwriter Nick Hodgson has spoken to NME about his new band Everyone Says Hi, his songwriting work with the likes of Dua Lipa and how he discovered the lost chord.Hodgson’s new band, which shares its name with a 2002 David Bowie song, consists of an array of indie rock luminaries including Pete Denton formerly The Kooks, Ben Gordon from The Dead 60s and Glenn Moule of Howling Bells, alongside Leeds guitarist Tom Dawson.Having signed to Chrysalis, their debut single ‘Brain Freeze’ – a psychedelic lounge rock hinting at recent Arctic Monkeys and Tame Impala influences and featuring a sax solo from The Zutons’ Abi Harding – is out now.Speaking to NME, Hodgson explained how the lyrics – co-written with Justin Parker (who also co-wrote ‘Video Games’ by Lana Del Rey and ‘Stay’ by Rihanna) – are about going on a recovery mission to Ibiza after “not a relationship so much, just arguments, division, conflict – disagreements that occupy your life sometimes”.“I love Ibiza as well, so it sounds like I’m dreaming of going to Ibiza and living there,” said said. “I’ve always dreamt of escaping in a camper van and I did go away on my own in a camper van.
Gel have returned with an aggressive new single, ‘Mirage’ and announced a new EP, ‘Persona’.The New Jersey hardcore band will release their new five-track EP on August 16, which is the follow-up to 2023 album ‘Only Constant’. Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and his family have said they are “thrilled” to announce a new reality TV show about his wrestling career.The singer has been the president of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) since 2017, and in February the company shared details of a new streaming deal with The CW.It was confirmed at the time that the partnership would see several of NWA’s programmes streaming for free on the US network, and also include a new “unscripted untitled series about Corgan’s life, family, role as president of NWA and his ‘day job’.”Now, the title and premiere date for the show have been revealed.
