Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Have Reportedly Laid Off Their Full London Staff

Princess Diana's former private secretary is voicing some concerns he has with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's new chapter after they step down as senior royals. Patrick Jephson, who was employed as a private secretary for the late "People's Princess," compared her struggle after leaving royal duties to her son Harry's impending situation, stressing that "Megxit" may not be easy for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after all.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will join the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as well as Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall for Commonwealth Day on Monday, March 9, Buckingham Palace confirmed.The British royals will be at Westminster Abbey for the annual service.

In just a week's time, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will officially attend their final royal event with other members of the royal family including Prince William and Kate Middleton. They will also join the Queen, the Prince of Wales Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall -- Camila before they bid goodbye to the royal life.  This will be Meghan and Harry's first appearance with the family since their announced their bombshell decision to step down as senior members of the royal family. 

Canadian officials Thursday said the government will no longer provide security to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after March, when the couple transitions from being active members of the royal family, according to a report. Public Safety Minister Bill Blair told the CBC the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have provided the royal couple and their 9-month-old son Archie “intermittent” security since November at the request of London's Metropolitan Police.

This isn’t the first time the royal couple has laid off their staff; hopefully, however, it will be the last. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s reason for firing their Buckingham Palace staff was not something they considered lightly. It’s a decision that is sure to cause a lot of concern, especially after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex let go of their household staff at Frogmore Cottage in January. But according to sources and staffers close to the royal family, the layoffs were to be expected.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have gone back to school. A palace source confirmed to Today that the duo visited Stanford University on Tuesday to meet with professors and academic professionals.

They did say they’d be back. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s return to Buckingham Palace is expected as soon as this spring, thanks to a very special occasion: A royal wedding, of course! Royal correspondents expect to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex back in the United Kingdom to attend Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s nuptials come May 29.
