Megan Thee Stallion has defended the visuals for her joint single with Dua Lipa, ‘Sweetest Pie’.The fantastical music video, which was released last week (March 11), features the two artists fending off a horde of men in various fantasy settings, at one point burning a castle and men to ashes.Elsewhere in the video, Lipa turns into an eight-legged spider and the pair are strung up to a pole while being burned for their crimes against men.Some fans criticised the video and found the imagery unsettling and creepy, but Megan has taken to Twitter to explain the symbolism.“I see that the #SweetestPie video scared some people or creeped them out a lil bit… lol MISSION ACCOMPLISHED how many times do I have to say i love horror films/ aesthetics,” she tweeted.One reply to her tweet read: “Megan can you just be honest. Megan Thee Stallion, 27, isn’t holding back against Tory Lanez, 29, after the Playboy rapper seemed to call her a liar in a tweet, after a court date for a 2020 shooting incident was postponed to April. The Good News rapper shared an alleged text from Tory in a since deleted Instagram post on Wednesday February 23.
In her caption, Megan claimed that Tory’s apology was proof that he’d shot her in the foot during a July 2020 incident. She pointed out that the lawyers had both of their phone records, and she shared the apology. “Lie yo way out of this. If you ain’t do s**t what you was apologizing for [sic]?” she wrote in the caption. “THEY GOT YOU RECORDED ON THE JAIL PHONE TALKING TO KELSEY APOLOGIZING BEGGING US NOT TO TALK.” Again, Megan called on Tory to come forward in an Instagram Story, asking why he apologized. “You SHOT ME YOU KNOW WHATS WHAT YOU WERE APOLOGIZING FOR?” she wrote. “JUST ADMIT YOU SHOT ME.”
While the texts didn’t have an admission of guilt, they did contain a series of messages with apologies from Tory. “I genuinely want u to know I’m sorry from the bottom of my heart And I was just too drunk. None the less s**t should have never happened and I can’t change what I did. I just feel horrible,” he wrote.
Megan posting the text came after she posted a series of Instagram Stories calling out DJ Akademiks for a since-deleted tweet, where he claimed that Tory’s DNA wasn’t found on the weapon. Megan pointed out that he wrote the tweet before court was in session. “Why are you lying?” she asked in a Story. She pointed out that the only thing that came out of court today was the session was pushed to April 5.

Megan Thee Stallion has been cast in the upcoming A24-made movie musical F*cking Identical Twins.The Houston rapper will be among those to star in the latest project from the acclaimed independent entertainment company, who have been behind such films as Midsommar, Uncut Gems and Moonlight.As The Hollywood Reporter notes, F*cking Identical Twins will star Megan alongside the likes of Nathan Lane, Bowen Yang and Megan Mullally.The film also stars its writers Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp, while Borat director and Seinfeld writer Larry Charles is set to direct.According to THR, F*cking Identical Twins follows “two business adversaries who realise they’re identical twin brothers and decide to switch places in order to reunite their divorced parents and become a family again”.The film is based on the 2014 two-man stage show that premiered at the Upright Citizens Brigade, and is described as a “subversive” spin on The Parent Trap featuring original songs by Jackson, Sharp and Karl Saint Lucy.No release date has been set yet for F*cking Identical Twins.Speaking about her role in the film, Megan told her Instagram followers: “HOTTIES THIS IS OUR FIRST MOVIEEEE/ MUSICAL!
