McDonald's customers have been left 'devastated' after the fast food restaurant announced it has temporarily removed the new Chicken Big Mac.
The chain only introduced the limited edition burger to its UK menu on February 2 for what was supposed to be a six week run.
But the franchise today confirmed that the item is no longer available due to 'incredible demand', the Mirror reports.
McDonald's said that the popular burger will be back, but has yet to announce when.
Posting to Twitter, the fast food chain wrote: “Well, that escalated quickly. Your love for the limited edition Chicken Big Mac knew no bounds and it’s sold out almost everywhere.
“Thank you for lovin’ it even more than we thought you would, it’ll be back soon.”
Maccies fans say they’ve been left heartbroken by the update.
One person said: “Nooooo I haven't had a chance yet! I am devastated.”
Another tweeted: “Back soon? Are you serious, just make it permanent!!!! It was the best thing I’ve ever eaten at McDonald’s!”
And a third replied to McDonald’s with a broken heart emoji.
The new Chicken Big Mac is pretty much the same as a regular Big Mac with the special sauce, but it has chicken patties instead of beef burgers.
It costs £4.09 for just the sandwich, or £5.59 for a medium meal with chips and a drink - you can go large for £5.99.
A spokesperson from McDonald’s UK&I, said: “We have been delighted by our customers’ reaction to the limited-edition Chicken Big Mac.
“The demand has been incredible and we simply cannot keep up.
“As such we’ve made the decision to pause the promotion, let our restaurant teams and suppliers restock and get ready for its return in a few weeks.
“We’ll keep customers informed about its return through the usual channels. Thank you to
