Gorillaz are paying tribute to late Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen with the release of the band's new song "How Far?""The track was written and recorded with Skepta in London just before lockdown and is being shared immediately as a tribute to the spirit of a great man, Tony Allen," Gorillaz said in a statement Saturday (May 2).Allen, a longtime friend and music collaborator of Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn, is also featured on the track.

L7 have shared a cover of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ “Fake Friends.” And the band’s cover features guitars and vocals from none other than Joan Jett. L7 have paired “Fake Friends” with the B-side “Witchy Burn.” Hear both songs below.

Bon Iver are back with a new song called “PDLIF,” which is an abbreviation for “Please Don’t Live in Fear.” Listen to it below. Proceeds from the song will go to Direct Relief, who offer support to health care workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Florence and the Machine have shared a previously unreleased song from the sessions for 2018’s High as Hope. The track is called “Light of Love,” and Florence Welch said she’s releasing it “as a little token of [her] love.” Welch also said she plans to donate all her proceeds from the song to the United Kingdom’s Intensive Care Society. Their 2012 album Kill for Love was their fifth, and, with a new announcement today, it looks like Johnny Jewel just might finally release the album he’s been teasing for over five years: Dear Tommy.

Naeem Juwan, the Baltimore-born and Los Angeles–based artist formerly known as Spank Rock, has announced his new album Startisha. The LP is out June 12 via 37d03d. According to a press release, Naeem began working on Startisha four years ago in Philadelphia. He later continued work on the record at Justin Vernon’s home studio. Startisha features contributions from Vernon, Francis and the Lights, Ryan Olson, Swamp Dogg, Velvet Negroni, Amanda Blank, and Micah James.

Car Seat Headrest have shared the latest song from the new album Making a Door Less Open. This one is called “Hollywood,” and it arrives with a new video directed by Sabrina Nichols. Watch it below.

Muzz—the new band of Paul Banks, producer/multi-instrumentalist Josh Kaufman, and Matt Barrick—have shared a new song along with the announcement that their debut album is on the way. It’s called “Quarantine Boogie (Loco)” and it’s his latest collaboration with the National’s Matt Berninger, who sings backup vocals. “Quarantine Boogie (Loco)” also has horns from Stuart Bogie. Amnesia Scanner—the Berlin-based duo of Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala—are back with a new album. It’s called Tearless and it’s set to arrive on June 5 via PAN. Gorillaz have shared another new song in their Song Machine series. It’s called “Aries” and it features New Order’s Peter Hook (on bass) and producer Georgia (on drums). Over a decade after their 2009 debut album II, Desire—the project fronted by Megan Louise—have announced their second album. It’s called Escape, and it arrives this summer via Italians Do It Better. Lindsay Lohan is back with new music! The Mean Girls star is making her musical return with her new song, "Back to Me." In the lyrics of the track, Lohan reflects on the highs and lows she's been through over the years, but declares she's getting back to herself. "I used to blame me when shit got crazy/I can't think too much about what they say," Lohan sings.
