Charlotte-born, D.C.-based rapper Mavi and Brooklyn’s Maassai have shared a new song. The track, “fire alarm (!),” is produced by Greenss. Listen below.
Mavi released his excellent album Let the Sun Talk last year. He also featured on “EL TORO COMBO MEAL” from Earl Sweatshirt’s FEET OF CLAY.
Last month, Maassai released her five-track C0N$TRUCT!0N 002: The Caution Tape. She’s featured on Medhane’s last two releases, Own Pace and Full Circle.

Gorillaz are paying tribute to late Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen with the release of the band's new song "How Far?""The track was written and recorded with Skepta in London just before lockdown and is being shared immediately as a tribute to the spirit of a great man, Tony Allen," Gorillaz said in a statement Saturday (May 2).Allen, a longtime friend and music collaborator of Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn, is also featured on the track.

L7 have shared a cover of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts’ “Fake Friends.” And the band’s cover features guitars and vocals from none other than Joan Jett. L7 have paired “Fake Friends” with the B-side “Witchy Burn.” Hear both songs below.
Bon Iver are back with a new song called “PDLIF,” which is an abbreviation for “Please Don’t Live in Fear.” Listen to it below. Proceeds from the song will go to Direct Relief, who offer support to health care workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Florence and the Machine have shared a previously unreleased song from the sessions for 2018’s High as Hope. The track is called “Light of Love,” and Florence Welch said she’s releasing it “as a little token of [her] love.” Welch also said she plans to donate all her proceeds from the song to the United Kingdom’s Intensive Care Society. Naeem Juwan, the Baltimore-born and Los Angeles–based artist formerly known as Spank Rock, has announced his new album Startisha. The LP is out June 12 via 37d03d. According to a press release, Naeem began working on Startisha four years ago in Philadelphia. He later continued work on the record at Justin Vernon’s home studio. Startisha features contributions from Vernon, Francis and the Lights, Ryan Olson, Swamp Dogg, Velvet Negroni, Amanda Blank, and Micah James.
