The alarm was raised at around 3.20am on Tuesday after a mayday call reporting that the unnamed man had got into difficulty in the water.Emergency services including Lerwick lifeboat and the HM Coastguard helicopter were called to the scene around 30 miles southeast of Sumburgh, Shetland.The coastguard said he was taken to hospital in Lerwick by helicopter.
