Speculation over the identities of The Masked Dancer characters is already rife after only two episodes and Prawn Cocktail is the latest fan fixation. After an energetic performance to One Night Only from the musical Dreamgirls the judges - Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Oti Mabuse and Peter Crouch - were left guessing, with Davina suggesting it might be TV presenter Holly Willoughby behind the mask. However, viewers at home reckon they know who it is with one saying: "Prawn Cocktail is Amber Davies," after claiming they made "west end" references during their VT.
Another agreed and said: "Prawn Cocktail is definitely Amber Davies." Love Island winner Amber has gone on to have a successful stage career in the West End since her Love Island days in 2017 so this clue does make some sense. Another reference to the stage life was Prawn Cocktail holding up a drinks menu and suggesting the "Dolly Parton" - and Amber starred in 9 To 5: The Musical. Saturday night's show (September 3) revealed Astronaut being unmasked as US actor Jesse Metcalfe, who starred as gorgeous gardener John in American hit show, Desperate Housewives.
But none of the judges successfully worked out who was behind the mask. Jonathan had a guess at Alex James from Blur and Davina guessed Henry Cavill. Oti and Peter both guessed Bear Grylls but none were correct.
After being unmasked, Jesse said: "I thought it would be fun. Dancing is something that really intimidates me and it was a fear I wanted to face. "This has been unbelievable, it’s one of the most zany things I’ve ever done in my career but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed myself.” Meanwhile fans think they've worked out the true identity of the mysterious Odd Socks character. The colourful costumed cast member
